三道嶺煤礦専用鉄路（１）　炭鉱の夕景

年末に新疆ウイグル自治区哈密市の三道嶺に出かけてきました。

ここはかねてより、SLが露天掘りの炭鉱の周囲をウジャウジャ走り回っている場所として、内蒙古のジャライノールと並んで有名なところでしたが、ついに終焉を迎えつつあるようです。

In December 2014, I visited Sandaoling Coal Mine Railway in Hami city in Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region.

This place is famous as many steam engines around open-pit coal mine, as well as Jalainur in Inner Mongolia. However, it seems to be going to end.

往事にはどれほどの線路が敷かれていたのかわかりませんが、今は炭鉱からの線は一本だけ。それもいつなくなるかわからない感じです。年内に陥落する恐れもあるように感じました。

とはいえ、現在は概ね30分に一本程度の頻度で貨物列車が運行されており、また、一部でプッシュプルの運転が行われています。

世界広しといえども、こんな頻度でSLが運行している場所はもう他にはないでしょう。まさに世界最後の蒸気機関車の楽園としか言いようがありません。このような光景が2015年まで残っていたこと自体が奇跡みたいなものですが、ここもいよいよ陥落と思うと何とも言葉に出来ない思いがこみ上げてきます。

とりあえず炭鉱の夕景から紹介します。

In the golden age of this coal mine railway, there were so many lines around the open-pit coal mine but now there is only one line remained. It would be removed in the not-so-distant future. It might happen within 2015.

Still, the steam engines are operated every 30 minutes. Furthermore, push-pull cargo train is also operated.

I'm sure that here is the last paradise of steam all over the world. The fact we can still see this scenery in 2015 is a kind of miracle. However, when I think about the end of the operation of these steam engines, I feel something sorrow or lonely.
